Last night I still received no phone call from Charles before leaving for work. I was upset, but I knew that it wouldn’t be much longer. I was on my way to work then all of a sudden....blah! I had thrown up all over my car door and on the side of the road. This proceeded 1 more time. I couldn’t call off because it was literally 15min before my shift....I got to work and called the supervisor and gave her till 11pm to find someone. Thank god she did....I threw up in a patient’s garbage can...and carried it to the bathroom. HOW EMBARRASSING!!!
Charles FINALLY called around 11pm, right when I was leaving work to go home. I felt so relieved and excited I didn’t want to tell him about work....but he could hear it in my voice. He felt bad but I immediately changed the subject. He took care of himself out there and got NO FROSTBITE....so he says...and said the only thing that was bad was the -10 degree weather. He had some fun. He sounded upbeat and happy to be back...and said that RT was not as bad as he thought but it will probably be worse next week. All I know is that he is safe and warm and that is all that matters! :)
So needless to say I really did get it. The flu and the call!
